Sandy Skogland

Sandy Skogland was born in Massachusetts in 1946 and spent her childhood moving around the states, from Maine to California. She received undergraduate degrees in art history and studio art from Smith College and her Master of Arts and Master of Fine Arts from the University of Iowa, where she studied film making, multimedia art, and printmaking. 

At the beginning of her career as a photographer, Skoglund set herself a challenge of photographing food. Her take on the self imposed assignment was to play with patterns.
